health
In Bech Khlok, many families struggle for daily survival. Children living in extreme poverty are more likely to be malnourished and undernourished. They rarely have access to clean water, sanitation and medical care. Because of their deprivation, they are less likely to complete school, more likely to get sick and ultimately more likely to remain in poverty.

Seed aims to break the vicious cycle of poverty, malnutrition and poor health with a holistic approach and has introduced the health programme with the following activities:

-
WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) programme for students and parents
-
Installation of water tanks, water filters and toilets
-
Regular distribution of deworming tablets
-
Nutrition programme in the school including education of parents on healthy nutrition
-
School garden
-
Playground and sports fields for physical activities
-
Emergency aid (food, medical care)
-
Other health related activities

Our kindergarten children and the poorest pupils in the primary school receive a healthy meal at school every day. Some of the vegetables come from the school garden, which is maintained by the pupils together with our school gardener.
Water tanks and filters are now not only at the school, but also at most families' homes. Toilets are unfortunately only available at the school for the time being. We are still working on this project.
